Lady Slipper adventure to raise funds for Kleinskool

Falcon Rock in Lady Slipper will be a hive of activity on Saturday from 8am to 8.30pm when the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber hosts Adventure 101: Explore The Unthinkabl­e.

The event is a fundraiser for the Kleinskool community project, with children in the informal settlement assisted with uniforms, stationery, school fees and transport money.

Saturday’s programme will include hiking activities, stalls, live entertainm­ent, food trucks, a beer tent, and the Falcon Rock restaurant will be open.

The Lady Slipper trail is only open to fit and sure-footed hikers who will need to complete a permit and sign an indemnity form.

The evening will see visitors sitting under the night sky to enjoy pop-up cinema and popcorn (for R40) at 5.30pm, with a family movie, The Avengers. Bring camping chairs along. An entrance fee of R50 per adult and R25 per child aged 16 years and under will include basic activities and the hike.

Other activities: 5km trail run (R50), guided birding and heritage tour (R60), black powder or musket shooting (R60), archery and pellet gun shooting (R60), rock climbing and abseiling (R180), and tandem paraglidin­g (R700).
