Win keeps Acemates on top

- Mogan Segadavan

CENTRAL Acemates retained their position at the top of the Pefa SCORE Premier League on Saturday with an easy 4-2 win over Blue Ribbon St George’s.

On Friday evening, Callies lost 2-0 to a well-organised PE Defence in their own back yard.

The teams were tied 0-0 at halftime.

Madibaz beat Mahle Old Grey 5-2 at NMU.

The match between Forresters and NMB Municipality was called off early as the field became waterlogged.

● AFTER playing to a 1-1 draw last week, both the front-runners in the Pelfa Old Buck Legends League could go on a goal-scoring spree tomorrow evening.

Log-leaders Callies play Westpark at the Londt Park Sports Club.

In the first round, Callies scored an easy 5-1 win and on current form there should be another high score.

Acemates take on Shamrocks Priory at the NMU south campus. In the first round, Acemates thumped Priory 8-0.

Fairview Rovers, who moved into third pace after a close 3-2 win over Mahle Old Grey, play tailenders PE City at the Victoria Park Sports Club.

Rovers won 4-2 in the first round. It should be a lot easier this time.

Defending champions Kuyga Masters play NMB Municipality at the Westbourne Oval.

In the first round, Masters scored a close 1-0 win. Another close match can be expected.
