FOUR WINDS MUSIC CLUB

Claire Venn hosts the Four Winds Music Club at the Music Kitchen on Wednesday from 7.30pm. Jen Schneeberg­er, Megan Smith, Brad Saunders and Danny de Wet will play and entry is R20.

FRIENDLY CITY DANCE FESTIVAL

The Friendly City Dance Festival is at the PE Opera House until Saturday with national dance, ballet, contempora­ry, tap and show-dance on show. TALK ON ROME

The Italian Culture Club of PE is presenting Prof Peter Loyson’s talk on Rome, “The Eternal City” on Tuesday at the Italian Sporting Club in Charlo. The talk starts at 7.30pm and is preceded by an optional dish of the region at 6.30pm. The talk is free and the meal costs R50. Inquiries: Peter, 083-359-1072.

BRYARS CONCERT

NMU music department hosts the Bryars Scholarshi­p Concert on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the South Campus Auditorium. The five finalists are Berenice Pretorius, Lara Potgieter and Joshua Bussy (piano) , Chadley Johnson (trombone) and Kirsti Limbert (flute). Tickets are on sale at the door, R50 each (R30 for pensioners, R20 for students).

CONCRETE WORKSHOP

The Nelson Mandela University's visual arts department and PPC Ltd are hosting a workshop on the creative use of concrete on August 23 and 24. The times are 10am to 5pm on Thursday, and from 8.30am to 4pm on Friday and the seminar will be held at the department, K-Block on North Campus in Summerstra­nd. RSVP by Tuesday.
