Get moving at our next fun master class

- Herald Reporter

Get ready to kick your fitness up a notch with our next Herald FitFam Master Class on Saturday October 13.

A top-notch team of four instructors will take you through tae bo, yoga, self-defence and Zumba routines from 8am to 1pm at Ignite Fitness in Sixth Avenue, Walmer.

YOGA

Kim Slabbert will start the morning by leading you gently through this ancient Indian discipline with an accent on its benefits to the body.

TAE BO

Unathi Majara is up next with a body fitness system that will up your pulse rate using martial arts techniques such as kicks and punches.

SELF-DEFENCE

PE Submission Fighting Academy head coach Chris Bright will demonstrate self-defence moves.

ZUMBA

Robyn Cherrington will turn up the volume and get your body grooving to infectious Latin American beats in her Zumba class.

Ignite operations manager Mizaan Kapp said the morning will be an ideal chance for those new to fitness, or scared of starting a training plan, to get to know what is available.

“There are so many different options in fitness and training, they are all over social media and the internet and most gyms do offer a wide variety of classes,” Kapp said.

However, that variety could be bewildering and The Herald FitFam Master Class series could help narrow down the choices.

“It’s amazing for people to be exposed to so many different kinds of training at one event, as Zumba, tae bo, MMA and yoga all target different things so it will help you to identify what you like most.”

Cherrington said including Zumba Fitness would give people an opportunity to have “another super fun workout”.

“The class will take away from the experience of Zumba Fitness that a cardio workout doesn’t have to be boring , it can be amazing fun,” she said.

Participants enjoyed the first FitFam day so much that at least one – 17-year-old Bianca Gouws – signed up at the gym after the session.

Buy an early bird ticket for R120 before the end of September, or pay R140 from October 1, which will give you access to all fitness sessions and a free water bottle.

Sign up for the early bird and you will also be entered into a lucky draw for goodies such as a hamper of fitness gear, health meal vouchers, haircare and photoshoots valued at R3,500 from our partners Ultimate Stylists, El Herve, Frederick and Son, Flush, Kindred Kitchen and Wear It’s @.

FitFam participants will also receive a 20% discount coupon for the Ignite coffee and smoothie bar.

You can buy tickets at The Herald or go online at Quicket.

Don’t miss out on what promises to be an energy-filled morning of fun. Further information from Berna Walters at The Herald marketing department, (041) 504-7135.
