Seeking reasons to remove Mettler

-

Dear Mr Mettler,

I have never met you, yet from what I hear, you are a hard-working and honest public official. You are also the person standing between city funds and a potential looting of those funds by Mongameli Bobani, Bicks Ndoni and Andile Lungisa.

(It is surprising that the EFF is in bed with Lungisa.)

Surprisingly, the only person who has any issue with you, as he did with the previous honest city manager, Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela, is Bobani.

Sadly we all know that because of Bobani’s juvenile and malicious campaign (and exmayor Ben Fihla’s violent threats) against MsenganaNdlela, the city was ordered to pay R3.1m in taxpayers’ money to the honourable, honest woman.

The fact of the matter is that as it stands the ANC-EFFUDM coalition is seeking reasons to remove you so that it can possibly loot the city and gain party funds prior to the 2019 elections.

The sad fact is that their blinkers are on and history will repeat itself.

Clearly Ndoni and the rest of the ANC caucus, together with Rory “I can read a balI ance sheet” Riordan, have no clue of what a constructive dismissal is and how clear-cut the case will be in the event that they do remove you.

This all despite the fact that Bobani’s claims have already been dispelled by the Hawks themselves.

In short, I have had enough of these juvenile shenanigans.

I say to Bobani, Ndoni and the rest of you, you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Take political control, but leave the honest, hard-working metro employees alone!

To the two ex-DA councillors, you, too, should be ashamed as for your role in attending that meeting on Friday, a meeting that allowed the proposal for Mettler’s suspension to be decided.

Your communities should alienate you.

From my perspective, Mr Mettler, I wish to thank you for your hard work.

also wish to extend any advice or support I can.

Furthermore, I wish to inform Bobani and Ndoni that should there be any severance package, legal fees or resulting legal settlement for Mettler, that I shall seek legal opinion to ensure that you personally have to pay such legal fees and settlement package.

The legal precedent has already been set with Jacob Zuma and ex-minister Bathabile Dlamini.

R3.1m is what the previous city manager was paid – are your pockets that deep?
