Sdudla to rock fans with ‘Yello’ release

- Sibulele Mboyi

New Brighton Afro House and Gqom artists duo Sithembiso Kula, – Mathousand, and Lungile Msizi – known as Sdudla, will be releasing their single, Yello on Friday.

They were signed by Gallo music in March and will release the full album, Freedom, in October. Freedom consists of 14 tracks and follows last album The Journey.

The pair said Yello was just a sneak peek of the energy they had poured into the album.

“When we went into studio we were booming with ideas; however when we heard this beat we knew Yello would be the ultimate summer song.”

They added Yello was motivated by the brightness and beauty of spring and symbolised fresh beginnings for them under a new record label.

Having worked together for more than a decade, they said they enjoyed experimenting and that was how they discovered their preferred sound for the album.

“With this album we are hoping to reach gold status.

“We have challenged ourselves and would like the people of the Eastern Cape to support us on this challenge,” they said.

“We are calling on the municipality’s arts and culture department and local radio stations also to support us because our success not only benefits us, but puts the whole of Nelson Mandela Bay on the map,” Sdudla said.

The single will be released on all digital platforms on Friday and pre-orders will be done on the same day. Freedom will be in music stores nationally on October1.
