ABBA AGAIN

VICTORY RACEWAY

Victory Raceway will host the regional championsh­ip on Friday. Gates open at 2pm and racing starts at 5pm. Competing classes are Junior Hot Rods, Pinkrods, 1660s, 2.1 Modifieds, Heavy Metals, Hot Rods and V8 American Saloons. Admission is R50 for adults and R20 for children under 13. Track parking is R20 per vehicle.

INDIAN DANCE

Internatio­nally acclaimed Indian dancer Dr Janaki Rangarajan will perform in Port Elizabeth on Saturday at the Barn Theatre, in the Nirvana Performing Art Circle Samah evening of Bharatanat­yam dance. She also will give a lecture demonstrat­ion on Saturday. Samah is at 7pm and tickets are R100.

UNATHI SINGS

Singer, television and radio personalit­y Unathi Msengana brings Brave, True & Strong to the Boardwalk in Summerstra­nd on Saturday. She also performs in two benefit concerts for Rhodes University students. On Friday, Unathi will perform alongside Victoria Girls High School choir, Sokhana Sinama and Bamanye Saki. Tickets for the PE show are R150 at Computicke­t. Msengana’s performanc­e at from 5.30pm to 8pm on September 14. Birdlife Eastern Cape is going on a bird watching outing to the Gamtoos river mouth led by Cliff Hopkins on Saturday, September 15. Meet at 6am Schultz's, West Street in Newton Wessa and Sanccob at Cape Recife are organising several cleanups to celebrate Internatio­nal Coastal Clean-Up Day on Saturday September 15 at the following beaches.

● Blue Water Bay. Meet at 9.30am at the Blue Water Bay swimming beach, at the bottom of Weinronk Way. Bags provided but bring gloves.

PARKRUNS IN PE

Take part in one of four parkruns in Port Elizabeth: PE Hobie Beach, Lady Slipper, Wells Estate and Sardinia Bay. The parkrun is a 5km fun run at 8am every Saturday, which is free and open to all but if you want a time please register for a barcode at www.parkrun.co.za. The Hobie run starts at the palm tree next to Shark Rock Pier; Sardinia Bay is at the Grass Roof in Heron Road; Lady Slipper is at Slipperfie­lds, and Wells Estate is at St George’s Strand.
