Northern Areas Football Association premier league action returns this weekend as teams look to gather as many points as possible in their pursuit of their league ambitions.

In the battle for the title, West Lake occupy top spot on 50 points, with Hotspurs five points off the pace and Helenvale a further point back on 44.

The log leaders take on Park United on Saturday before a visit from Blackpool on Sunday.

Two wins would go a long way to cementing their place at the top of the log.

Hotspurs can expect some tough competition in their pursuit of a full complement of points.

They welcome Shamrocks on Saturday before a meeting with Fairdene 24 hours later.

Helenvale’s position means six points would be massive if they are to continue challenging for the top spot.

They take on Fairview Rovers before a visit to outgoing champions Wolves on Sunday.

Both Bloom Callies and Fairview Rovers are still in with a shout, but will need teams above them to drop points in their remaining games.

Callies host Blackpool in the Saturday fixture before travelling to relegation-threatened Rangers on Sunday.

Rovers meet Helenvale in a key game on Saturday before taking on Ramblers on Sunday.

The teams in danger of relegation are Shamrocks, Celtic, Rangers and Saints.

Saints, who are destined for the big drop, will have only pride to play for in the final few matches.

They travel to Stardrift tomorrow before welcoming fellow strugglers Shamrocks on Sunday.

All matches are scheduled for a 3.15pm kickoff.
