Livingstone Hospital is a shocking disgrace with the filthy state of the toilets. Where is the housekeeping manager?

On September 10 I waited for two hours, 45 minutes for a file to be drawn, whereas others had been waiting much longer. Why not employ more staff to ease the frustration of patients and staff? Where is the admin manager? The medical staff do their best under these conditions.

I lay the blame on the labour unions for these poor services. It’s about time their members should earn the salaries. B RHODE

REPLIES TO COMMENT

Friday’s letter by Ed Gutsche (“Seeking reasons to remove Mettler”) refers. Shame does not feature in the UDM, ANC and EFF dictionary. The looting has begun.

C WATERS “Other dams” (September 17): yes, in the 1970s I visited the Sand and Bulk River dams. I also wonder about them.

WENDY PENSIONER “Now know reason for the rain” (September 14): how is the rain not a Godsend. You must be a big fool or crazy. Or from hell. All things come from God and not from the ANC, nor from you, Mr Mayor. T BARKER

KEEP THE MAYOR ON

Let’s keep Mongameli Bobani on as mayor. First we got rain, the Bokke beat the All Blacks and Kaizer Chiefs finally won a game.

If Serena Williams had steamrollered Naomi Osaka, would there have been any outbursts? Rule number one of sport: win big and lose big!

POOR POSTAL SERVICE

I am very disappointed in our postal service which has deteriorated like everything else in this country. Three weeks ago I posted, at Summerstrand post office, a “get well” card to a terminally ill friend in Cape Town, very clearly addressed.

Needless to say so far it has never arrived! JEN

WELL DONE TEAM

Well done The Herald team (“Knysna fires report earns The Herald team top award”, September 14). Not only did you earn the top awards, you also helped the fire victims get help from readers. Surely the fire victims are also happy. PORTIA

Why not appoint an independent person or party to run the municipality until the court has made a decision between the ANC and the DA?

CARTOONS DEMEAN

Yet again today [September 14] The Herald has printed another of Mark Wiggett’s demeaning, insulting cartoons. Don’t any of The Herald staff feel ashamed? I cringe every time I am asked why The Herald hates black people so much. MARION

WHERE WAS UNION?

Where was the union when Hlaudi Motsoeneng was running the SABC? When Faith Muthambi was [allegedly] stealing? HINGA
