The Boks restored our pride

-

The Boks made us a very proud nation when they outclassed the All Blacks on Saturday with a convincing 36-34 win. Well done to the players, captain and coaching staff.

I have a lot of confidence in this young and talented team, hence the coach should keep the winning combination.

The Boks were playing as underdogs, and they surprised and silenced their critics.

I can foresee this dynamic team going very far to reclaim their position again in world rugby.

I was glued to a television from the start of the game until it was over.

Each and every member of the team played exceptionally well, they were all focused and went all out to prove that they can still win the hearts of all South Africans.

Rassie Erasmus should again keep the same combination when we play at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

We can still beat Australia if we rectify the few mistakes that we did make against them previously and all South Africans should rally behind this new team.

New Zealand captain Kieran Read also admitted for the first time that the Boks were the better team at the end of the day.

Siya Kolisi should also feel very proud of his achievement as he is the first black captain to lead his side to victory outside SA.

I would also like to applaud the coach for having confidence in the leadership and guidance of Kolisi, and he also made us proud as Port Elizabeth fans as he is also a very good model for our youngsters.

Aphiwe Dyantyi was my man of the match as he scored two unbelievable tries, to the surprise of the New Zealanders. The player has speed and skill, and he will go far in his career as a rugby player.

Once more thanks to Erasmus for spotting black talent and his bravery to give our designated players a golden opportunity to showcase their skills.

This was a team effort, and there was again commitment and dedication from all players until the last of the 80 minutes.

Well done Boks.

I want to congratulate the Springboks for their triumph against the All Blacks at Wellington in New Zealand on Saturday.

I was really watching a very different Bok team, and I was very impressed by their desire to win and their never-say-die attitude in their hearts.

I must admit I had thought that not in my wildest dreams would the Boks win this one.

If you want to beat the All Blacks you have to attack first and by doing that you’re making them very nervous.

Don’t wait for them to come to you as they will crash you into pieces because they are very fit, physical and fast on the ball as well.

I think the Boks are peaking at the right time, with the World Cup just around the corner.

We are going to write positive things about them as long as they keep us happy.

I’m sure this game will go down in history as one of the memorable victories against the All Blacks.

They should refer to it as the moral booster when their morale is at the lowest.

Once again thank you very much for making us proud. Keep it up boys, well done.
