Just attempt to get votes

-

How gullible does Mongameli Bobani think the good people of the northern areas, and for that matter, those in the townships, are?

This latest ploy is purely an attempt to garner votes to ensure the ANC and its cohorts remain in power.

Once these votes are captured, the pie in the sky promises will disperse like Scotch mist.

The present division of municipal income served up by the DA seems fairly equitable, with all areas receiving some assistance, depending on the available funds!

Perhaps we should consider all the residents of South Africa to be grey-skinned, thus ensuring that available funds are spread evenly among all, to the betterment of all, and not just the chosen few!

Chappy Walmer Heights, Port Elizabeth Mayor Bobani should be praised for speaking the truth when he stated that 100% of the budget will be spent in the disadvantaged areas and that services will be withheld in the affluent neighbourhoods.

This has been the policy of the ANC since the early ‘90s. What’s my proof?

Go to any small town that has been amalgamated with a previously disadvantaged community and look at what remains of that town’s infrastructure, decay and neglect.

The difference in Port Elizabeth is that the infrastructure is reasonably sound, although old, so it’s taking longer to collapse. But collapse it will.

I’ve lived through sewage running through my property and nights without electricity, due to mismanagement and neglect.

The only problem with neglecting the infrastructure in the affluent neighbourhoods is that these areas are no longer white but reflect the broad spectrum of our society and I’m sure include many of your people.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at the next caucus meeting after the sewage actually starts flowing and Andile Lungisa refuses to send repair teams, or will this only apply when it’s not your people affected? Intrigued Port Elizabeth
