An event aimed at helping women to realise their potential and inspire them is to be held in Port Elizabeth on Saturday October 20.

Phalo Iqhawe, supported by the Mandela Bay Development Agency, is presenting “Destiny Restored” at the Athenaeum in Athol Fugard (formerly Belmont) Terrace.

“This will be an uplifting session, for women to identify their main purpose in life and be motivated to take strides toward realising that purpose,” Phalo Iqhawe founder Nolufefe Norawuzana said.

She said the seminar would be an attempt to push women to dream, pause and then execute their plans of finding their “true purpose”.

“As women, we are trapped in caring for others and we sometimes neglect ourselves.

“This seminar will remind us of the importance of taking care of ourselves first so that we may be able to pursue our own dreams,” Norawuzana said.

Khonziwe Tukwayo, whose programme Talita Cumi works with young girls on the transition to adulthood, will be the MC at the event and the speakers are:

● Ubuntu education fund external relations manager Nozibele Qamngana, who will talk on being born for a purpose.

● Life Mercantile hospital specialist physician Dr Pinky Ngcakani, whose topic is “Be a Visionary”.

● Motivational speaker and founder of the Vision4Women Nosi Ncoyo, who will talk on being destined for greatness.

● Businesswoman and Bay TV show host Tumi Flusk will discuss business matters.

● Iinkumbuzo Photography owner Luvuyo Ngxiki, founder of Phikelela Empire, will speak about making it against all odds.

The seminar is from 10am to 4pm and tickets are R180, which includes a light breakfast, entertainment, lunch and gift bags.
