Pineapple run fun

Participan­ts in Saturday’s Smash the 2018 Pineapple Run are offered free camping facilities at the Port Alfred Country Club on Friday.

Online entries on entrytime.com closed on Tuesday.

Entry forms are available at Brian Bands in Port Elizabeth and at Buco and Sportsmans Warehouse in East London.

The event, consisting of 27km and 10km races, is an EPA Participat­ion League event organised by the Kowie Striders Athletic Club.

The 27km race starts at the Big Pineapple in Bathurst and ends at the Port Alfred Country Club.

The 10km event starts and ends at the country club.

Limited transport at R25 will be available from the country club to the start of the 27km race from 5.30am on Saturday.

Entry is R110 for the 27km and R60 for the 10km.

EPA-registered athletes over 65 will pay R55 for the 27km and R30 for the 10km.

Scholars will pay R40 for the 10km.

Late entries will be accepted at the country club from 5pm to 7pm on Friday and from 5am on Saturday.

The 27km event starts at 7.30am and the 10km at 8am.

There is a four-hour cut-off for the 27km.

There will be cash prizes in the various categories and the customary lucky draw.
