Well done ANC (“Lungisa told to step down from mayoral committee”, October 9). Shouldn’t a man who has been convicted of a crime and sentenced be sent to jail? And if he wishes to appeal, shouldn’t it be done from jail and not from the mayoral committee benches?

Surely this is a shortcoming of our legal system. And why does it take so long, first to get offenders into court and then for appeals to be heard?
