WILDLIFE PHOTO EXHIBITION

The 2018 East Cape Landscape and Wildlife Photograph­y Exhibition is on at the Quad Gallery at the NMU North Campus Art and Design Building in Summerstra­nd. The students’ collaborat­ion with the Addo Sanpark honorary rangers will be on show until November 30 on week days from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Inquiries: 041-504-3256/3247.

SA/GERMANY PLAY

The PE Opera House is presenting Changes: Fall of Berlin Wall and Apartheid at the Barn Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday. Directed by Frank Fuhrmann, the play stars Nobesuthu Rai, Xabiso Zweni, Paul Lücke and Jeffrey van Laun and is on each night at 7pm, with an extra show at 2pm on Saturday. CHRISTMAS CRAFT MARKET

The Walmer Christmas Craft Market continues until Saturday to 2pm. On Friday it is open until 7pm. The market, at the Walmer Town Hall in Main Road, Walmer, also includes a tea room.

DIGBY AND THE LULLABY

Bay singer-songwriter­s Digby and the Lullaby are bringing their live show to the Acoustic Cafe at the Victoria Hotel on Friday November 16 in Grahamstow­n, followed by another show in Nieu Bethesda on Sunday December 2 at Die Waenhuis. Tickets are R100 (students R40) for Friday’s show at 8pm. They are R180 for the 4pm show at Die Waenhuis, which includes canapés and a glass of fizz. PADLANGS MARKET

WESSA CLEAN UP

Wessa Algoa Bay Branch will clean up around Walmer High School on Saturday November 17. The school is about 200m from the Heugh Road and Ninth Avenue Walmer intersecti­on, and the clean-up is from 9.30 to 10.30am. Wessa will supply litter bags but bring water, gloves if you have them, and hats.

BIRD TRIP

Cliff Hopkins will lead a birdwatchi­ng outing on Sunday to the beautiful Van Stadens Gorge and Lady's Slipper Mountain. All to meet at Schultz’s, West Street, Newton Park, at 6am for the morning trip. Petrol money of R50 is requested. The group will look for forest birds in the gorge and fynbos birds on the mountain (driving up the back of the mountain).

The Western Suburbs Flea Market is on Sunday from 8am to 2pm at the Park Rugby Club in Stella Londt Drive, Fernglen. The club will be open, with indoor and outdoor stalls including clothing, accessorie­s, food, videos, books and second-hand goods, wooden benches, plants and more.

FILM AUDITIONS

Nelson Mandela Bay auditions for the film The Route will no longer be held on November 20 and 21, but have moved to December 8 and 9 from 8am to 5pm. Note the venue changes also, to the NYDA offices at Kwantu Towers. Aspiring actors and actresses aged 18 to 21 are welcome to audition and an audition script will be provided on the day.

PARKRUNS IN PE

Take part in one of four parkruns in Port Elizabeth: PE Hobie Beach, Lady Slipper, Wells Estate and Sardinia Bay. The parkrun is a 5km fun run at 8am every Saturday, which is free and open to all, but if you want a time please register for a barcode at

www.parkrun.co.za. The Hobie run starts at the palm tree next to Shark Rock Pier; Sardinia Bay is at the Grass Roof in Heron Road; Lady Slipper is at Slipperfie­lds, and Wells Estate is at St George’s Strand. BEL CANTO

Mimi Coertse’s opera company, the Bel Canto Ensemble, will present a Christmas concert at the NMU South Campus Auditorium at 7.30pm on Tuesday November 20. Tickets for the concert of arias and Christmas favourites, performed by six opera singers, accompanie­d by Susan Swanepoel, will only be on sale at the door. Prices are R95 for adults, R80 for pensioners, R40 for students and R35 for school pupils.

The Italian Culture Club of Port Elizabeth is presenting a talk entitled “From Italy with Love” by Jano Jonker from NMU on Tuesday November 20 at the Italian Sporting Club in Charlo. The talk starts at 7pm and is preceded by an optional Italian dish at 6pm for R 50. The talk is free.

FILM FESTIVAL

AFDA Port Elizabeth will host a Graduation Festival with performanc­es by graduates on Monday November 19 at 7pm, and on Tuesday November 20 at 2pm and 7pm, at the Savoy Theatre. The Film School graduate festival will be on Saturday November 24 from midday until 5pm at the Nu Metro cinema at the Boardwalk in Port Elizabeth. Tickets for the Stage Festival can be purchased from AFDA at R40 for adults, R30 for students and pensioners, and R200 for a block booking of 10. Film Festival tickets will be sold by students and a limited number of tickets will be available at the door, at R20 per film.
