WILDLIFE IMAGES

The 2018 East Cape Landscape and Wildlife Photograph­y Exhibition is now on show in the Quad Gallery at NMU North Campus Art and Design Building in Summerstra­nd. The students’ collaborat­ion with the Addo Sanpark honorary rangers will be on show until November 30 on weekdays from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Inquiries: 041-504-3256/3247.

Photograph­er Heidi Saayman Hattingh is opening Site: Engaging the archive in the Visual Arts Department in NMU’s School of Music, Art and Design on Tuesday. Prof Mary Duker will address the opening, which is at 6 for 6.30pm at the Bird Street Art Gallery in Central. The exhibition will run until Wednesday December 12 and hours are 9am to 5pm on weekdays.

MOVIE AUDITIONS

Nelson Mandela Bay auditions for the film The Route will no longer be held on November 20 and 21, but have moved to December 8 and 9 from 8am to 5pm. The venue also changes to the NYDA offices at Kwantu Towers. Aspiring actors and actresses aged 18 to 21 are welcome to audition and an audition script will be provided on the day.

BEL CANTO

Mimi Coertse’s opera company the Bel Canto Ensemble presents a Christmas concert at the NMU South Campus Auditorium at 7.30pm on Tuesday. Tickets for the concert of arias and Christmas favourites performed by six opera singers accompanie­d by Susan Swanepoel will only be on sale at the door. ITALIAN TALK

The Italian Culture Club of Port Elizabeth is presenting a talk entitled “From Italy with Love” by Jano Jonker from NMU on Tuesday at the Italian Sporting Club in Charlo. The talk starts at 7pm and is preceded by an optional Italian dish at 6pm for R50. The talk is free.

FILM FESTIVAL

AFDA Port Elizabeth will host a Graduation Festival with performanc­es by graduates on Monday at 7pm, and on Tuesday at 2pm and 7pm, at the Savoy Theatre. The festival of short films will be on Saturday from midday until 5pm at the Nu Metro cinema at the Boardwalk. Buy tickets for Monday and Tuesday from AFDA at R40 for adults, R30 for students and pensioners, and R200 for a block booking of 10. Students are selling film tickets and a limited number will be available at the door, at R20 per film.
