Swaying to the festive rhythm
● Dance coach Miranda Botha flawlessly talented
Hello dolls. I hope you’re not as fatigued by the December fever as your gossip gal. But you know what the funny thing about “December fatigue” is?
We are too tired for the office, but never for a good party!
Skinners thinks we should be doing nothing but party non-stop.
Your Skinnerbek kicked off the weekend at the final The Herald Cooking Masterclass, where she learnt a thing or two about making desserts.
Any weight gain in January may be blamed on that decadent chocolate teardrop mousse along with all the festive season indulgence.
I went to the Sway in the Bay on Friday evening at the Feather Market Centre.
The charity dance competition saw the likes of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism chair Buli G, Mr PE UberMANn Ofentse Boloko and 2018 Survivor SA: Philippines winner Tom Swartz dance their hearts out.
Skinners had confidence in her dancing skills, but watching this lot left her feeling like she has two left feet.
Buli G’s split drove everyone crazy – they don’t call her multi-talented for nothing.
Animal lover and former Algoa FM presenter Carol Ann Kelleher and her dancer partner, Andrew Serfontein, won the R10,000 prize in aid of the Animal Welfare Society.
Skinners could almost not believe those were amateur dancers who only had eight weeks to get their feet in order.
While we’re here, can we discuss how flawlessly talented dance coach Miranda Botha is?
She should really hook Skinners up with a trick or two for a confidence boost.
Skinnerbek was at the second annual Iz’dudla Pool Party on Saturday at the Zwide Dam.
It’s a swimming pool, so why is it called a dam, wonders this gossip girl.
Anyhow, the party was hosted by plus-size body positivity activists Iz’dudla zaseBhayi, opening a platform for self-conscious women to strut their stuff in swimsuits freely.
If you are aware of the following the group has attracted, then you already know Bay women came out in numbers.
The event included empowerment talks where the women discussed issues of low self-esteem and more.
It saddens Skinnerbek that so many women are so overly conscious about their bodies.
The event did not only attract plus-size women because there were some smaller women who also said they felt their bodies were not petite enough for bikinis.
Skinners sure hopes the event helped them feel more confident because we all know bikini season is in full swing.
Let’s catch up next week for the last time before your favourite gossip gal takes a well-earned break until next year. Ciao!
