Clifton protest had political agenda

-

When one looks at this whole fiasco that took place at Clifton Beach over the New Year, one needs to ask some questions.

Why Clifton Beach ? Why New Year? Why not Muizenberg or The Strand?

I believe that Clifton was chosen because it is seen by certain parties as the enclave of white political entitlement, and because staging a protest there would create the worst political upheaval possible in the shortest possible time.

I have no doubt that this whole fiasco was carefully planned and orchestrated by black political parties to create the mayhem that it did, and, for no other reason than to create further division and hate between whites and blacks.

This had nothing to do with the “traditional cleansing of the beach” or any other trumped-up reason – such as the slaughtering of a sheep on the beach, as part of the cleansing ritual.

Hopefully the law will take care of this matter, and the best thing anyone can do when this happens again – and it will happen again – is just quietly pack up where you are, walk away and report it to the nearest police station, where you can lay a charge under the Cruelty to Animals Act in a public place.

No violence is needed, because that is exactly what these people want.

And we fuel the fire and their cause by reacting violently to them.

It will be hard to do – to refuse to meet violence with violence – however, I believe a non-violent approach is the only way to stop this nonsense.

When there is no violent reaction to this type of behaviour it will stop, and especially if culprits are prosecuted.
