More to US porn star than Trump episode

- Sarah Cohen

Of course you have heard of Stormy Daniels. You’ve no doubt read about this infamous porn star’s stated encounter with the now-President Donald Trump. But, have you really read about it from her point of view?

I was filled with inexplicable dread as I picked up Daniels’ book

Full Disclosure because I thought I was about to read a poorly written diatribe over 268 pages about the Donald. I was wrong!

You will discover she is smart and sincere and her story is believable. There is also some legitimate humour.

Daniels wants the reader to know she never wanted to be where she is. She hates public speaking, she kept the sex she had with Donald Trump a secret from her own husband and she overcame a truly despicable childhood. In the first two long chapters, shes details her dysfunctional childhood in Louisiana and talks of horse riding as an escape.

In her prologue she writes, “I should be living in a trailer back in Louisiana, with six kids and no teeth”.

She is successful and confident in her thoughts, job and personal life. I thought that the book would be more about Trump. Having said this, I appreciate there is more to her life than the “Trump incident”.
