A Greg and Aldo show

-

JOCKEYS Greg Cheyne and Aldo Domeyer are set to dominate tomorrow’s Polytrack meeting at Fairview – with their combined efforts likely to see the Alan Greeff yard come out tops in the training stakes.

Cheyne has a place chance in Race 1 when he rides Away Game for owner Wilgerbosdrift. The former Mike de Kock charge finished fifth in his Port Elizabeth debut run and is likely to improve on that effort.

Angkor (Cheyne) and Hidden Power (Domeyer) could both run into the money in Race 2, which will be contested over 1 300m.

Race 3 seems to be a twohorse race between Royal Kiss (Wayne Agrella) and Jaleika (Cheyne) – both former Western Cape runners. Royal Kiss makes her debut for the Tara Laing stable, while Jaleika turns out for the Greeff yard for the first time.

On form, Royal Kiss might just have the edge.

Trainer Sharon Kotzen’s Humble Addict looks hard to beat with Louie Mxothwa up in Race 4, but Domeyer should make his presence felt on Lloyd George for Greeff.

Greeff can also run 1-2 in Race 5, in which Domeyer and Cheyne are aboard Three Times A Lady (drawn in gate No1) and Nifty Fifty (No 2) respectively. However, strong opposition can be expected from Bring Me More (Chase Maujean) and Viva le Bleu (Julius Mphanya) for the Laing and Gavin Smith stables respectively.

In Race 6, Cheyne looks strong on Keep The Faith, who is set for a third career win. The daughter of Bold Silvano was beaten by only half a length in her last start and could go one better this time.

The Aloe Handicap, Race 7 over 1 300m, is the main event of the day with R110 000 in prize money.

It effectively looks like another two-horse race as Klever Kathy and Madame Speaker go head to head, with a thrilling finish in prospect.

Madame Speaker, with Cheyne up, seeks to return to her winning ways after she found one better in her last start, when she finished two lengths behind Platinum Class.

Klever Kathy finished 2.75 lengths behind March Music last time, but won both her previous races in style and cannot be underestimated.

Vertical (Mxothwa for Kotzen) can also finish in the money.

Greeff also looks strong in the eighth with Aldo (Cheyne), while Lord Windermere (Domeyer) is always in with a chance.

Amajory (Domeyer) and Royal Applause (Cheyne) can both end the meeting in the money, but High Definition (Ryan Munger for Yvette Bremner) and The Carpenter (Collen Storey for Emmanuel Kaknis) are right in the mix.

The first race is off at 12:10.
