Snail mail can mean no mail

Re “snail mail” (Your Views, January 17). I have had a similar event with mail from Australia. A birthday card posted early in December, by my daughter, has not arrived yet.

My daughter had also sent me a parcel some time earlier, clearly addressed, only to have it returned a year later marked “Unknown at this Address”.

Likewise friends in France also sent me a card, posted December 3 – just arrived here after 43 days!
