Rising Warriors star Sinethemba Qeshile made a half century as United Brothers beat bitter rivals Jendamark United by six wickets in their NMB Premier League match at the Dan Qeqe Stadium in Zwide on Sunday.

Set only 114 to win, Usuthu wasted little time in chasing down their target, with Qeshile leading from the front with a superb display of strokeplay in making 59. His runs came off 56 balls and included six fours and three sixes.

Dumisani Magala added 38 in a partnership of 98 with the SA U19 batsman to see their team home. Brothers needed the timely win after losing to SA Home Loans Union by 56 runs on Saturday.

Ryno van Zyl made 63 in his team’s total of 195 and Brothers could manage only 139 in reply, with Morne Smith and Wimpie du Plessis each taking three wickets.

But the biggest upset of the weekend was engineered by Bloemendal, who surprised Tavcor Commercial Old Grey by 33 runs in low-scoring affair.

United beat SUPERSPAR Despatch by a massive 156 runs. Alastair Majola made 78 while Tembu Holo took a fine 6/23.
