Is traffic chief proud of what he does?

-

Several times a month we read about poor traffic behaviour and no presence of traffic officers, which has now become boring and fruitless.

The only feedback we sometimes get shadows the governing party’s empty promises without any gain.

I speak on behalf of cultured, disciplined road uses who religiously contribute their monthly taxes and revenue. We demand to see what we are paying for, that is, clearly marked roads, road traffic signals adhered to, but most importantly road traffic officials doing the work that they are employed to do!

We would like to know exactly what this traffic chief does behind his desk each day that contributes to the nonexistence of his subordinates and why, according to the public, we never see traffic vehicles on the road.

This equates to “out of sight, out of mind”.

We all know why this is so – if one just looks at the state of government-owned/run entities like Eskom, SAA etc, the correlation is there.

I have a question for the local chief of traffic services: Are you really proud of what you do and content with taking home such a fat-cat salary?

If I was related to you I would be extremely embarrassed to admit that to anyone, even to my disciplined dogs that stop at the entrance to the doors of my home with respect to others.
