Lungisa’s lies tell the story

- Athol Trollip, DA Federal Chairperson

Andile Lungisa’s lies speak volumes about what kind of government we have in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

The article about Lungisa’s whereabouts, under the headline “Actually, Lungisa is in China”, is a really worrying testimony of what the ANC has come to represent under the leadership of people like Andile Lungisa.

In the article it is stated that Lungisa initially lied to The Herald about being part of a NMB metro delegation to China.

Following this he responded that he was being untruthful because he thought The Herald was trying to “trick him” and that he actually is visiting China.

What is most concerning is the fact that this individual’s lack of credibility has been exposed time and again, yet he keeps rising up the ANC leadership ranks and is now set to be elected to parliament.

Not only is Lungisa a convicted criminal, he has also allegedly been implicated in numerous instances of corruption. His dodgy political DNA is evident in the role he is playing in part two of “How to steal a city” in the case of the R21m drain-cleaning contract.

The same contract that has led to at least nine assassinations in mayor Mongameli Bobani’s “safest city in SA”.

The only way to deal with such brazen arrogance and immoral behaviour is to remove or radically reduce the political support and mandate of such dubious characters in the forthcoming elections.
