More excitement on PE race cards

- Punters’ Pal

Punters should take advantage of another west-versus-east battle at the Fairview race track in Port Elizabeth on Friday.

The PE trainers might not be very happy with the strong challenge from the regular Cape Town raiders recently, but it did help the punters and made for very exciting racing.

Last week, we tipped you a very nice Place Accumulator and for the third Friday in a row the visiting Candice Robinson stable did not let the team down with the banker on the day.

The Cape Town stables of Robinson, Vaughan Marshall and Justin Snaith are back in PE to contest the feature race, the Ibhayi Stakes for threeyear-olds, on the turf track.

It was one for the visitors last Friday when Marshall won the Lady’s Bracelet with Canukeepitsecret, with local filly Mary O’Reilly getting second.

Marshall is in the mix again with Deepston but the other two raiders, Fabian and Trip To The Sky, look even stronger.

Fabian could make it another Robinson banker to help the punters but jockey Richard Fourie rates the Snaith runner Trip To The Sky very highly.

The PE runners will pull out all the stops to deny Cape Town another victory.

March Music and The Highway Man will carry the hopes of the locals.

It will be very competitive racing throughout the day but don’t leave Foreign Source (race 1), Mendocino (race 2), Light On Her Toes (race 4), Gimmetherain (race 5), Exelero (race 6) and Touch Of Green (race 9) out of your bets.

The PE racing fans will be shouting very loudly for their fancies to beat the visitors but they will probably shout even harder on Saturday.

National Park, trained by Yvette Bremner at Fairview, contests the SA Classic to be run at Turffontein in Johannesburg.

There is R2m in total prize money at stake in this one for the three-year-olds.

The Bremner runner will be up against the strong Mike de Kock stable that will have four runners in the race, among them the favourite, Hawwaam.

The race starts at 4.10pm and will be shown on TellyTrack on DStv (channel 239).
