MYENI SOMEHOW SURVIVES

In Monday’s The Herald Justice Malala writes in his column that Dudu Myeni glides from opportunity to opportunity with no prospect of being held to account (“The outrageous is now normal”). More accurately it could have been hops from leg to leg and between somehow survives.

RICH FOR LUNGISA TO GIVE ADVICE

Bit rich when convicted criminal Andile Lungisa is handing out legal advice to Bongo Nombida. Isn’t it time Lungisa becomes a jail house Iawyer? READER

HOMES’ EXTERIOR IN POOR STATE

I have just been to visit my friend who stays at Adcock van der Vyver Homes in Kensington. Inside the homes are beautiful, but outside they are a disgrace. Have not been painted for about 20 years. Come on ACVV, paint the place, take pride in yourself.

MORE THAN DEGREE NEEDED

The report on page 8 on Monday refers to Ncumisa Nodaka being a chartered accountant. My understanding is that a BAcc doesn’t give you that. CURIOUS

REPLIES TO READERS’ COMMENTS

Bettie (“Guard saves dogs”, March 4), sorry, you have it all wrong. It is not the car guard’s job. The irresponsible, inconsiderate owner of the dogs should be fined and the dogs taken away from him/her.

JEANETTE As a political science post-graduate student, Asemahle Gwala (“EFF may merge with ANC”, March 4) ought not to be playing fast and loose with the facts of history, that is, unless his letter is purposefully crafted as a propaganda tool. The facts of history cannot be changed, only misrepresented.

PLAN FOR BAYWORLD

Before we make Bayworld a tourist magnet, the local tourism team should arrange a cleanup of the fallen harbour crane and then start to maintain the (new) Kings Beach parking lot which is already looking tired. If you can’t get the basics right, don’t bother with the big stuff!

If you Google the word “maintenance”, the definition is as follows: “the process of preserving a condition or situation or the state of being preserved”.

DIFFERENT TREATMENT

Another taxi driver not arrested for [allegedly] killing someone as was the case with the driver that [allegedly] killed the two Atlas Security employees.

But when you shoot an intruder who threatens you in your own home you are arrested on the spot. Are there different laws for taxis? It seems so when you see how they break traffic laws and nothing comes of it. P***** OFF CITIZEN

MISSED RUGBY MATCH REPORT

Why no report on the Sharks and Stormers game? I really miss the Burger. It at least catered for rugby fans, not discriminated against rugby.

RUGBY FAN There was a combined report on both the SA Super Rugby matches on Page 15 of Monday’s edition. More comprehensive reports are available on www.heraldlive. com – The Herald sports editor Alvin Reeves
