Peace Makers maul Tigers in one-sided clash

Peace Makers were the biggest winners in the ABC Motsepe League, thrashing Future Tigers 7-0 at the Wolfson Stadium in Kwazakhele on Saturday.

Xolani Mahola, who scored a hat-trick, bagged his first two goals in the first half to help Makers go into the break with a 2-0 lead, while his third came through a penalty.

Makers increased their tempo in the second stanza, which saw four more goals.

Mihlali Mkonto came straight from the bench to score two goals.

Siphe-Sihle Mtule and Ayanda Manengele also added their names to the scoresheet.

Makers are sixth on the log with 39 points from 22 games.

PE Stars made sure to keep their hopes of getting their hands on the trophy alive when they beat Subs 3-0 in a Bay derby on Saturday.

The Gelvandale side are only three points behind log leaders Tornado, who are leading the pack with 47 points.

Sibanye are now third on the log after losing 1-0 to Yaka United at the weekend.

Stars and Yaka are level on 44 points but Stars are above due to a better goal difference.
