Sibanye Football Club continued their whirlwind start to the Northern Areas Football Association premier league season after a thumping 5-1 win over Wolves on Saturday.

The result sees the newly promoted outfit remain on top of the league standings after their 7-0 mauling of Bloom Callies only a week earlier.

With nine points from their three games so far, they have already put the ball in the back of the net on 14 occasions in their first three games.

They have conceded just two to put them in pole position early in the season.

Meanwhile, Fairdene are following close behind as they, too, sit on nine points, thanks to a slender 1-0 win over Shamrocks on Saturday.

Blackpool find themselves in third position, thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bloom Callies.

They are two points off the leaders on seven points.

Helenvale scraped their way past Hotspurs with a tough 2-1 win on Sunday, moving them another four places up into the top five.

With a game in hand, the Helenvale outfit will call for some consistency as they chase the leaders.

Meanwhile, at the foot end of the table, Shamrocks, defending champions West Lake and former champions Wolves are yet to register a point after three games.
