MUSIC FESTIVAL AT MANNVILLE
The Four Winds Music Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019 with a music festival at Mannville in St George’s Park on Friday and Saturday March 22 and 23. Musicians will include acclaimed names such as Steve Newman, Marc Mayngard, Dave Goldblum, Ed Johnson and more. Tickets are R100 per day, with a discount for attending both days. Friday’s performances are from 6pm and the music starts on Saturday at 3pm. There will be food trucks but picnic baskets are welcome.

American Grammy-winning group All-4-One will perform at the Boardwalk on Saturday March 24 with Cape Town musicians Alistair Izobell and Sasha-Lee Davids in Music Alla Kaap. The quartet of Tony Borowiak, Delious Kennedy, Alfred Nevarez and Jamie Jones will be performing the newly recorded track Africa Arise with Davids, written by Izobell. The King Lobengula Foundation has a three-day programme on “The Impact of Colonialism in our Society Today, and the Road to Restoration” from Friday March 22 to Sunday March 24 in in Fingo Village, Makhanda. CHARIOT FEST
The Ratha Yatra Festival, which celebrates peace and religious tolerance, will be marked in Nelson Mandela Bay by a procession drawing a chariot. The march will start at on Sunday morning at 10am at King’s Beach parking area and end at the Scout Hall in First Avenue, Summerstrand. Take part in one of four parkruns in Port Elizabeth: PE Hobie Beach, Lady Slipper, Wells Estate and Sardinia Bay. The parkrun is a 5km fun run at 8am every Saturday, which is free and open to all but if you want a time please register for a barcode at www.parkrun.co.za. The Hobie run starts at the palm tree next to Shark Rock Pier; Sardinia Bay is at the Grass Roof in Heron Road; Lady Slipper is at Slipperfields, and Wells Estate is at St George’s Strand.
