Attend to lights and potholes

Can you send someone out to Gould Street, Sidwell — lights are not working.

Sutton Road in Sidwell is also full of potholes and cracks. Garreth Snayers —

Fix faulty lampposts

I reported two faulty lampposts in my street about four months ago.

We were promised it would have been fixed three weeks after the report.

It’s months later and nothing has been done.

I have been given several excuses by the councillor for Ward 35 as to why it has not been done, but we can’t give excuses when it comes to us having to pay our municipal rates account.

There is a high mast lamp which is also not working, but they have installed cameras to the same high mast lamp.

What is the purpose of the camera when it is dark?

The street is Da Silva Street, Ext 20, Bethelsdorp. Desiree —

Tyres getting damaged

The road workers who were tarring the road leading from the KwaNobuhle municipal offices towards Khayelitsha township left the rails on the bridge not properly covered.

This is causing a lot of damage to the tyres and front suspensions of vehicles passing the small bridge.

Someone must please have this fixed before the municipality faces huge litigation bills. — MJ Ralo

Water leak springs up — again

Three months ago I reported a water leak in the street where I live, Victoria Park Drive, South End, right opposite Victoria Park.

It took the municipality more than six weeks to come and fix it, then I had to harass them once again because, while the leak was fixed, the road was not patched up.

It was just filled up and left open, not resurfaced.

So, about three weeks ago it started leaking once again, and we — me and my neighbour — called again to report it.

Until now the water is still running in the street and noone has ever come out to attend to it. But Mr Mayor has lots of ratepayers’ money to advertise on [radio] about saving water and reporting leaks.

I ask you, Mr Mayor, why should we bother to report it when your municipality just ignores us? IR —

Ward 37 complaints repeatedly ignored

In Ward 37, northern areas, we have outstanding complaints backdated to more than one year. Eucomus Street, Extension 32, has underground water leaks; Harlequin Street, Extension 34, has underground water leaks; Folatuis Street, Extension 32, has an underground water leak.

These have been reported numerous times via e-mails, WhatsApp, SMS and even phone calls.

Get rid of cows on Victoria Drive

There are always cattle and livestock on Victoria Drive and no street lights along this road.

Night-time driving on this road is hazardous and not safe.
