MEDITATION HOUR

Join millions around the globe in sending positive vibrations to the world. World Meditation Hour will take place at Brahma Kumaris Port Elizabeth at 28A Albert Road (between Second and Third Avenues), Walmer, on Sunday from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

MEMORIAL RACE

The ninth annual Curt Alchin Memorial Race will take place at Victory Raceway, Victoria Drive, tomorrow. Gates open at 2pm and racing starts at 6pm. Entry is R50 for adults, R20 for Under-13s and R20 a vehicle for track parking. Classes competing include Jnr Hot Rods, Pinkrods, 1660s, 2.1 Modifieds, Heavy Metals and American Saloons. TWILIGHT BOWLS

Zwartkops Rowing Club in Redhouse will host Twilight Bowls on Wednesday January 22, and every second Wednesday, at 5.30 for 6pm. The cost is R20 a person and everyone is welcome, with no experience needed.

LEARN MEDITATION

The Raja Yoga Meditation course is offered by Brahma Kumaris PE, 28A Albert Road (between Second and Third Avenues), Walmer, on Mondays, starting January 20, for four sessions from 6 to 7.15pm. The centre also offers Release Your Wings, a DVD presentati­on followed by discussion with Sister Shivani, internatio­nal motivation­al speaker and teacher of meditation, on Fridays, starting January 24 for four sessions, from 10 to 11.15am. SOCIAL TENNIS

PEMADS AWARDS

The annual Pemads Theatre Awards evening will be held at the Pemads Little Theatre in the Athenaeum complex, Athol Fugard Terrace, Central, tonight at 6 for 6.30pm. There will be cabaret-style entertainm­ent and a cocktail function, with cash bar, after the event. Dress code is semi-formal. Tickets are available at the door at R30 a person.
