Zuma, arch manipulator and destroyer of SA, must be jailed

- Jane Slim, Port Elizabeth

Jacob Zuma when taking the oath of office when elected as president of SA said: “I solemnly affirm as president to be faithful to the Republic of South Africa and do solemnly and sincerely promise at all times to obey, observe and uphold and maintain the constitution and all other laws of the republic”.

Since when? He has done everything in his power to do just the opposite.

This is the man who has defied the highest court in the land because he has so many questions to answer, questions that he was not going to be allowed not to answer.

This man spent his years as president singing, dancing, giggling all while bringing the country to its knees.

Judge Raymond Zondo has recommended that he be jailed for contempt of court, but come on, this is Jacob Zuma, the man who ironically instigated this commission.

There will be appeal after appeal and we all know that he will never see the inside of a prison.

He has been giving the RSA the middle finger for years.

Zuma was head of intelligence for the ANC all the years they were in exile, I think this should have been called head of corruption and cunning.

He is, in my opinion, an evil man whose only interest has been to look after Jacob Zuma.

We all knew what was going on when he was president, so the whole ANC cottoned on and they also wanted to be involved in all this looting, hence the corrupt society that we now are.

He knew that if he attended the commission he would have to incriminate himself.

How many witnesses do we think will now testify at the commission, or even in court, why bother, if an ex president can break the law and get away with it?

This man has enriched himself beyond his wildest dreams and is worth billions if not trillions of rand, all taken from our beloved country while we all sat stunned, unable to do anything about it.

Zuma has his rag-tag army of so called military vets, what a wonderful sight to behold, and we have his son, or should I say, one of his many sons, saying the judiciary has been politicised.

The only things we can trust today are the impartiality of the judiciary and a free press, without which we would have been ignorant masses.

Since our beloved Madiba, this country has gone one way, down.

What future do we now have as this man is playing a very dangerous game?

We know that the procurement for the coronavirus vaccine will be steeped in corruption.

I genuinely believe that President Ramaphosa is doing his best, but is he untainted by corruption?

Who can we trust now and in any case his time is limited, and then who?

We need a new government, but also know it will never happen — the ANC is like every other liberation party: once in power, always in power.

Back to Zuma, you are the arch manipulator, and you are gathering an army of supporters, including having tea with that opportunist, Julius Malema.

How cosy it looked but one dreads to think what is going on in your devious minds.

Now all that we can do is hope that justice will prevail and very soon.

We are all so tired of this eternal merry-go-round and just want you arrested, shackled and thrown into jail, not for six months, for many years so that we can at last be rid of you.

But I fear that the damage that you have inflicted on this country will never be erased, and, like the virus, will always be there stalking us.
