RACE DAY

Round 7 of the Club Championsh­ip at Victory Raceway will be held from 5pm at Victory Raceway, Walmer, tomorrow.

Competing classes are Junior Hot Rods, Pinkrods, 1660s, 2.1 Modifieds, Heavy Metals and American Saloons.

Gates open at 1pm. Tickets cost R50 for adults and R20 for children under the age of 12.

Track parking costs R50 per vehicle.

BONSAI MEETING

The Eastern Province Bonsai Society will hold its monthly meeting at the Newton Park Methodist Church Hall on Saturday July 9 at 11am.

Les Kingma will give a talk and demo on a new growing medium.

Members are advised to bring their trees for a hands-on workshop and visitors can bring trees for advice from senior members.

DIABETES WELLNESS MEETINGS

Diabetes SA will hold its monthly meetings in Malabar, Newton Park and Springdale on July 12 and 13.

The Malabar Wellness Group will meet at the Malabar Community Hall in Haworthia Drive, where biokinetic­ist Morag Heydenrych will speak on the topic “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can”.

The meeting on July 12 will start at 7pm.

The Springdale Wellness Group will also meet at 7pm on July 12 at the Gospel Hall, corner of Geldenhuys and Olympia streets, where Fatima Shabudin will speak on the benefits of cupping for overall wellness as well as assisting in control of diabetes.

The Gqeberha branch group will meet at 7.30pm on July 13 at the Caritas Service Centre Hall, 16 West Street, Newton Park, where GP Dr Eddelene Bouwer will speak on the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for people with diabetes.

ART IN THE PARK

Art in the Park will be held on Sunday at St George’s Park in Park Drive from 9am to 2pm.

QUILTERS’ MEETING

The Dias Quilters’ Guild will hold their monthly meeting tomorrow from 2pm at Victoria

Park Grey Primary School in First Avenue, Walmer.

EXHIBITION­S

Remains of the Visible, a photograph­y exhibition by Margot Muir, is at the Bird Street Gallery in Gqeberha as part of the National Arts Festival Fringe programme until Sunday.

Muir will hold a walkabout at 11am tomorrow.

● Wood and Wind, a multisenso­ry exhibition by sculptor Michael Roderick Wedderburn in collaborat­ion with the Nelson Mandela University’s department of music and performing
