The Music Society of Port Elizabeth will on Wednesday May 24 host the first of their popular Soiree Musicales, in collaborat­ion with the Feather Market Organ Society.

In these concerts, the goal simply is to serve society through music.

The event will be held at the Summerstra­nd Church at 6pm.

BOOT SALE

The Forest Hill community will host a boot sale at Clover Crescent (on the open ground next to the Donkin Hospital) on Sunday April 16 from 7am to 1pm.

COMEDY SHOW

Award-winning comedian Skhumba Hlophe is back with a new show, his fifth one-man special after a three-year gap.

The show focuses on what has been happening in the country and the world at large, how he’s dealt with Covid-19 and turning the Big 4-0, as well as his personal growth in recent years.

He will be performing at the Boardwalk ICC on April 28 at 7pm.

Tickets cost between R225 and R285 through Computicke­t.

ART EXHIBITION

On The Drawing Board, an exhibition of artworks and exploratio­ns in planograph­ic printmakin­g by Jessica Staple is on at the Bird Street Gallery in Central until April 28.

Daily viewings are from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

There will also be an artist walkabout on April 15 from 10 to 11am.

ENIGMA TOUR

Zonke will bring her Enigma Tour to Gqeberha when she performs at the Boardwalk ICC on Saturday May 13.

Tickets range from R450 to R1,500. The more expensive option includes a meet and greet, a photo opportunit­y and a goodie bag.

Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

QUILTERS’ GUILD

The Dias Quilters’ Guild will have an afternoon of fun and laughter, and a tea party, on Sunday May 20, from 2-5pm, at St John’s Anglican Church in Eighth Avenue, Walmer.

Laugh and learn as Elsabe Aldrich examines wholeheart­ed living.

Handmade items will be on auction and there will be plenty of lucky draw prizes. Tickets cost R200 a person. Inquiries: Nicolette on 084506-4493.

SANGRIA SUNDAYS

Enjoy live music while sipping sangria at Tapas in Walmer on Sundays.

The weekly event starts at 1pm.

MARKET FUN

There will be a slow Sunday market at Westview Sports Club on April 16 from 9am to 1pm.

Entrance is free.
