GOOD EXAMPLE

Agree with Shanni, The Herald January 29, DA councillor Lenny [Moodley] should give lessons to other councillors on how to keep their wards clean, potholes fixed, roads painted and assisting the poor and needy.

NHI ELECTION CHANT

I do not always agree with Justice Malala, and that’s OK. However, today, January 29, where he talks about the NHI the ANC is so keen to establish, he could not be more 110% correct. The NHI in a functioning country, where the majority of the population are educated and pay tax, does indeed work. In SA, where the education system has a fundamental problem of getting children to read for meaning, most citizens would battle to even understand what Malala was on about. Hence, in reality, all the ANC’s harping on about the NHI is an election chant that like so many of its electioneering chants, has no hope of ever seeing the light of day. Reader

ICJ TAXPAYERS’ BURDEN

ICJ: Will this ANC government please let the population know what The Hague court proceedings cost the taxpayer? A figure is being circulated and if true, we can ill afford what has been spent. Hans, Port Alfred

SOWING DIVISION

Apartheid was used to destroy society. It is amazing when we remember how we wanted to kill it to bring about the integration and togetherness of society. How sad the politicians constantly resurrect it to once again divide us, separate us, to keep us in a state of constant conflict. Is this the best they have to offer in order to stay relevant? Tragically sad. Tony
