The Port Elizabeth Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s annual Valentine’s cabaret, Welcome to the Love Shack, has again proved to be a treat for all.

Blending music hits from various eras, Welcome to the Love Shack gets the feet tapping and the hearts beating, and puts huge smiles on the faces of the audience.

Featuring a line-up of local performers led on, and off, stage by Nelson Mandela Bay theatre personality and the society’s president, Rose Cowpar, this show has something for everyone.

Directed by Cowpar, who is joined by Jesse Barth as vocal director and Vernon van der Merwe as choreographer, both in their G&S debut, Welcome to the Love Shack is a delight.

The cast, which features a diverse and dynamic mix of youth and experience, is also splendid.

The performances, including those of Roelene Primo, Leandi Fontini, Milo Dyantyi, Taryn Bigge and Hairspray cast members Khanyisile Peppeta and Lynette Gravatt, must be commended for their brilliance.

Prepare to sing and dance along to chart-toppers, classics from stage and screen, and whimsical mash-ups in this fun production.

With songs made famous by the B-52s, Huey Lewis, Madonna and many others, Welcome to the Love Shack also showcases top guest performances.

Watch out for Fontini’s rendition of Madonna’s iconic Frozen and Alistair Josephs, Barth, Hlumelo Dyantyi, Timothy Jacobs, Tuan Thalla and Tiaan Bosch’s take on the Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way.

Dance champions Vernon and Dominique van der Merwe are also on hand to keep the audience on their toes.

Guest performers, including Jody Butler, Matthew Shaw, Phillip Cowie and Harrison Dax Nash, complete a show that should not be missed.
