CHARITY GOLF DAY

Participants in the annual Algoa Cares Charity Golf Day will have the opportunity to witness and challenge blind golfers through a partnership between Algoa Cares and the Nkosinathi Foundation of-andfor Blind and Partially Sighted People.

The foundation has been selected as the beneficiary of the golf day to be hosted at the PE Golf Club on Friday March 1.

The theme for the 2024 Algoa Cares Charity Golf Day is “Groovy Greens: Rockin’ the ‘80s”.

Four-balls and sponsorships can be booked through Algoa Cares on the Algoa FM website.

TRACY CHAPMAN TRIBUTE

Claire Venn, Russel Sneyd and Andrew T Warneke will be performing music from their Tracy Chapman and 3’s a Band show on February 25 at 2pm in the garden of one of Gqeberha’s historic homes in Walmer.

The music is from many different decades and genres, so it will appeal to a wide audience.

Bring along a picnic basket, blankets, sun hats and sun block.

Beverages will be for sale. Tickets, which may be purchased at the door, are R120 an adult, and R60 for children under 12.

BEACH CLEANUP

After a successful first beach cleanup led by Boardwalk Mall and Boardwalk Hotel last year, the hospitality destinations have committed to conducting these on a regular basis and have called on the public to join in.

The November beach cleanup event in the area around Hobie Beach was a great success, drawing more than 70 participants. More than 12 wheelie bins of trash were filled in an hour.

Volunteers are invited to join an eco-crusade once again to help Hobie Beach retain its Blue Flag status, which is crucial for tourism.

The cleanup takes place tomorrow from 8.30am to 9.30am.

Volunteers should wear sunscreen and comfortable clothing.

The meeting point is at Shark Rock Pier.

The Friends of the Linton Grange Library’s next book sale is on February 24, from 8am to noon.

New members are also encouraged to join the group.

The Linton Grange Library Book Club will, meanwhile, meet on February 14, from 10am to noon. New members are welcome.
