Evicted ‘BB Mzansi’ contestant glad to be home

- Joy Mphande

Palesa “Pale” Motanyane was “excited” when she became the fourth contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi competition, as she can now focus on motherhood and growing her business.

“I was missing a lot from my normal life — my daughter, my mom, my grandmother, my friends.

“I just missed being in my own space and I had mentally checked out as a result, and in the same breath I wasn’t going to voluntarily exit,” she told TshisaLIVE.

“I needed to be home, and the feeling that I am getting is exactly what I was looking forward to when I was in the house.

“I am with people who know and love me.

“People who comfort me and know the real Pale.”

She said her exit happened at the right time as she achieved what she wanted and had enjoyed the experience.

“I entered the competition because I wanted to try something new and different.

“I wanted to get myself out of my comfort zone and explore other things.

“The experience cemented the things I have been confident about.

“It taught me things about myself that I was not aware of.

“It was also to inspire people, especially my daughter.”

Motanyane said the perception of her eating habits was false, even though she made fun of it and took screenshots or snippets from those moments.

She now wants to turn lemons into lemonade.

“My plans are to grow from where I currently am.

“Since there was this narrative about me loving food in the house and overeating, I decided I’m going to venture into the culinary space and actually make money out of it and serve people good food.”

The 30-year-old business development manager from Soweto has been home for a week, focusing on her PM Celebrations company and hopes to get into broadcasting.

“I look forward to growing that baby and I would like to break into broadcasting, be it radio, TV ... just the entertainment space. I would love to be a speaker and MC as well.”
