Berg event to test mountain bikers
THE countdown has begun for the Gooderson Drakensberg Gardens Mountain Bike & Trail Running Challenge.
Growing in popularity, this year’s challenge will certainly get the blood flowing. It will be taking place next Saturday and Sunday, and entrants stand a chance to win R10 000 in cash prizes for the overall male and female winners.
The first 200 participants to enter the 40km and 20km mountain bike races and the 15km trail run will each receive a goody bag and a race T-shirt, so get those entries in fast because there are limited places for this exciting event.
So check your mountain bike’s tyre pressure, dust off your running shoes and head on up to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the magnificent southern Drakensberg, the crisp mountain air, the rejuvenating clear streams and the azure-blue skies on 860 hectares of mountain land.
The Drakensberg Gardens Challenge is the first in a series of three events, with the next two to be hosted at Gooderson Natal Spa Hot Springs on October 1 and 2 and at Monks Cowl on November 5 and 6.
