Still plenty of fun to be had this month in Durbs
IF YOU thought all the fun ended with the horse race last weekend, there’s plenty more entertainment lined up for the rest of the month.
Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story is on at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from July 23-August 7. Catalina UnLtd presents the show, directed by Themi Venturas. In the lead role is Durban High School pupil Joshua Arnold. Hits include That’ll Be The Day, Everyday, Oh Boy!, Maybe Baby, Peggy Sue, Big Bopper’s Chantilly Lace, Ritchie Valens’s La Bamba and Chuck Berry’s Johnny B Goode. Book at Computicket.
Stand Up and Dance, a dance and comedy show at Suncoast from July 22-24. Dance by Leona Dean and her troupe, and comedy by Anasia Govender, Neville Pillay and Sagie and Muthu Murugan, will mean laughter and fun. Tickets at Computicket. Looking ahead to the following Sunday, July 17, Old Mutual Music at the Lake at Durban Botanic Gardens will feature Dan Patlansky, Albert Frost and Hezron Chetty with a blues rock concert.
