Ready to flex your walking muscles for a good cause?

WHAT better way to end off August than by supporting an excellent cause and having a great day out at the same time?

Pick n Pay is inviting everyone to join them, as participan­ts put on pink to help raise awareness around breast-cancer and early detection.

The walk will set off from the Sunkist Lawns on the Durban beachfront at 8am next Saturday, so dust off those walking shoes and start flexing your walking muscles.

Not to worry if you’re not super-fit – the fun 5km walk isn’t timed, so you can do it at your own pace in your own time.

There’s an extra element of excitement this year – the chance to win a new stylish and iconic Fiat 500.

Men and children are welcome too.

PinkDrive, works tirelessly to provide women around South Africa with breast-cancer examinatio­ns and education, and will have a station at the event for free breast exams, as well as the opportunit­y to talk to a representa­tive about any breast-related matters.

A village will be set up on the Sunkist Lawns, and will be at the start and finish points. Walkers will be treated to a host of fun activities on the day, including great live entertainm­ent by Lloyd Cele.

Hot and cold snacks will be on sale at the Pick n Pay food stand before and after the walk. Once the walk is over, relax and enjoy the lucky draws and bestdresse­d competitio­n.

Participan­ts will also get to sample smoothies from our nutrition partner, Futurelife. Everyone who finishes the walk will be presented with a medal and a goodie bag.
