A SUPERB line-up of artists is set to rock Durban’s annual Road to MTV Africa Music Award’s (Mama) party hosted at eYadini Lounge, in uMlazi, Durban, tomorrow.

Headlining the gig is hip hop star Anatii and Durban rapper Aewon Wolf joins the line-up for the second year running. Back to the Beach hit-maker, Kyle Deutsch, and Wololo singer, Babesall Wudomo, both make their debuts.

Anatii has recently returned from America where he has been performing and recording music with RnB star Omarion.

Anatti told The Independent on Saturday that he was delighted to be leading the gig and the audience can expect him to perform hit singles such as The Saga, Feeling on Me and his latest single Hours from his debut album, Artiifact.

The rapper said the Road to Mama show was a build-up to the main event taking place in Johannesburg.

It’s the first time for the city after Durban hosted the Mama’s for two consecutive years.

Anatti said he is “super excited to perform here… shout out to MTV base for creating this platform for artists to perform, it’s really cool of them to bring it Durban even though they aren’t the hosts – he vibe here is always great.”

The host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah was announced on Wednesday as the presenter for the sixth edition of the Mama

“It’s dope they got someone who’s making it outside Africa and doing us proud. It’s great for our country and especially the continent,” Anatii said.

Gearing up for the gig, Durban-grown Deutsch said he’s thrilled for his debut performance at eYadi Lounge.

“It’s a place that’s in my home town that I don’t get to go to often, so I’m looking forward to it. The venue always brings a fun crowd. I’ve been there before, but not to perform and I know the crowd loves to dance,” he said.

“My favourite thing about performing in my hometown is that the people are interactive. They’re more carefree than other cities and love to enjoy the music with you. Love from local fans is always great.”

Tickets for Road to MAMA show are available at www. afritickets.com for R150.
