Demand a lifestyle audit of the Zuma family

- From: SIYANDA MHLONGO KwaDukuza

IT TOOK the death of Joseph Stalin for the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to speak “ill” of him. The arrogance of President Jacob Zuma emanates from his understanding of his colleagues in the cabinet, comrades in the national executive committee and the weak alliance.

Winnie Mandela has joined veterans who call for serious introspection. To use Sipho Pityana’s words: “It falls short”. She has repeated everything veterans have been saying and the “naked emperor” ignores them because his power is in the NEC.

I agree with Wilmot James that Thabo Mbeki divided the nation but he did so by refusing to be an agent of pharmaceutical companies, for advancing and protecting the constitution and refusal to be captured. Those who wanted to steal gave the nation Zuma and either they sleep in NEC meetings or go to the smoking saloon to avoid annoying him.

We are betrayed by Cyril Ramaphosa, Gwede Mantashe, Matthews Phosa, Thenjiwe Mtintso, Yunus Carrim and many who are refusing to take the bull by its horns. Bravo to Mbeki, Bulelani Ngcuka, Terror Lekota, Dumisani Makhaye and Harry Gwala who was the first to warn us about the man.

Veterans must now go to Luthuli House and demand implementation of the following proposals: lifestyle audit of all leaders and the banning of Edward Zuma from talking nonsense on matters of governance because all Zuma family members including Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma are “conflicted”.

Demand a report on what the ANC is doing to stop killings and conflict in Intshangwe and why Zuma has not reprimanded Nosiviwe Mapisa Nqakula, David van Rooyen who used uMkhonto We “Sisu” a platform to fight his own cabinet member. Ramaphosa said “government cannot be at war with itself ” but Zuma disputed this leaving his deputy intimidated and scared.

Veterans must demand a lifestyle audit on the Zuma family. We cannot have a president who has blessers as far as Russia, India and France. As voters we must have the power to recall the president.
