China raping country thanks to ANC friends
I FIRST heard it on Al Jazeera. The Arab international television network known for its forthright news coverage, said it had conclusive evidence linking officials in the highest echelons of South African government to illicit rhino horn poaching. Furthermore, it had incriminating evidence implicating Minister of State Security David Mahlobo.
It secretly filmed a Chinese restaurant owner in Pretoria claiming he had taken a delegation accompanying President Xi Jinping last year to buy illegal ivory ornaments and accessories for shipment to China. He could be heard saying he could not understand the fuss over killing these pre-historic creatures.
Another rhino horn trafficker, Guang Jiang Guang, bragged he was a close friend of Mahlobo who regularly visited his Mpumalanga spa. Police are investigating his alleged ties to rhino horn smuggling. But when confronted in Parliament, Mahlobo dismissed them as spurious allegations.
China finds Africa, especially South Africa, with its corrupt government, attractive.
The late former Police Comissioner Jackie Selebi was linked to an underworld drug boss. KZN Police Commissioner Mmamonnye Ngobeni is under investigation for her close ties with businessman Thoshan Panday and, of course, there’s President Jacob Zuma who had a corrupt relationship with Schabir Shaik and a questionable relationship with the Guptas.
So who would you believe, Al Jazeera or Mahlobo? The Chinese are flooding our markets with their cheap goods, raping our seas and killing our rhino – with the help of their ANC friends.
