LET ME LEAVE ON LOAN, YOUNG BEGS MOURHINHO

-

MANCHESTER United’s Ashley Young has asked Jose Mourinho if he can leave on loan. The 31-yearold is popular in the dressing room but is desperate to play more games, with his last Premier League start coming against Swansea in November.

United have still to decide whether to let him go but have accepted a £500000 bid from QPR for German 21-year-old midfielder Sean Goss.

BARCELONA have made a surprise check on Falkirk’s left back Tony Gallacher, 17, but face competition from Liverpool, Celtic and Manchester City.

He has made seven first-team appearances since making his debut in the Scottish FA Cup. Chelsea, Stoke, Manchester United and Everton have also asked about Gallacher with Falkirk looking for £750 000 plus add-ons.

ASTON VILLA boss Steve Bruce is keen on loaning Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom.

HULL have signed Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic on loan. Markovic, a £20m signing from Benfica, had been on loan at Sporting Lisbon.

MARSEILLE went back to West Ham with another bid for Dimitri Payet yesterday – but only increased their offer by £860 000.

The £22.5m bid came across as an insult to the Premier League club, who feel Marseille created this problem with Payet and now will not cough up the cash to end it.

LEICESTER have rejected a £1.7m bid from La Liga side Alaves for striker Leonardo Ulloa.

EVERTON defender Phil Jagielka will weigh up options this week with several clubs keen to take him. Everton are monitoring Branislav Ivanovic at Chelsea.

NEWCASTLE UNITED’S former defender Steven Taylor will start training with Ipswich Town next week. Taylor, 31, is a free agent since leaving MLS side Portland Timbers by mutual consent after failing to settle. – Daily Mail
