Olive Schreiner Revisited – Jannie van Heerden (Today until March 16 at ArtSpace).

The solo exhibition will be opened by Professor Johan Jacobs and will showcase drawings and paintings by Jannie van Heerden. He grew up in Cradock, Eastern Cape, where Olive Schreiner, best known for her novel The Story of an African Farm, lived as a teenager with her elder brother and sister and where she worked later as a tutor.

On March 11, Van Heerden will host an informal discussion about his paintings and drawings.

Pet Rescue musical fundraiser (Butler’s Restaurant, Hillcrest, noon tomorrow).

Austrian saxophonis­t Andrew Young, The Brunettes and Chloe Clark’s band “Put a Swing On It” to raise funds for Pet Rescue. Its activities include dealing with everything from animals in abusive homes to animals stolen or used for illegal fighting rings.

Currently touring South Africa, Young joined the line-up when he saw the organisati­on on Facebook.

The Brunettes – Tammy Saville, Chloe Clark and Marion Loudon – will perform their favourite songs from Marilyn Monroe, Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse and Avicii. Durban’s favourite Jazz Cats, Chloe Clark, with Burton Naidoo on piano, drummer Jude Kenrick and Llewellyn Chetty on the bass, will also have a horn section with Kgethi on trombone, Phuti on trumpet and Phumlani on saxophone.

The Chain – The Fleetwood Mac Story (March 25-26 at the Rhumbelow Theatre).

The Reals will be back at the Rhumbelow, paying homage to one of the world’s biggest hitmaking machines – Fleetwood Mac.

The event features some of Durban’s favourite musicians. Dawn Selby on the keyboard, Barry Thomson on the guitar, Jason Andrew on the bass, Mali Sewell on drums and guest performers Marion Loudon and Colin Peddie. Expect covers of all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, including Little Lies, Seven Wonders, Everywhere, Landslide, The Chain and many more.
