Make way for the dedicated praise singer

WITH reference to the letter “Thank you, Dr Dhlomo” last week, it seems that Dhayalan Moodley is Durban’s unofficial “imbongi”, a praise singer.

I have noticed that every letter he writes to the media, he is always praising and thanking someone. It is commendable, but it is now becoming a bit tedious.

I would like to recommend that the eThekwini Municipality employ Moodley as the city’s official imbongi so that at council meetings he can lead the mayor, singing her praises down the aisle at city hall to her seat.

He will be happy doing what he likes best, and we won’t have to put up with his ranting in the newspapers.
