Skokiana album launch

SKOKIANA will perform at two concerts this week to launch their self-titled album, composed and arranged by Sazi Dlamini.

One of the founding members of Skokiana, Dlamini holds a PhD degree in musicology. In 2016, he accepted the eThekwini Municipality’s Living Legends Award in recognition of his contribution to the preservation of indigenous KZN music genres.

Skokiana play at the The Rainbow, 23 Stanfield Lane, Pinetown at 2pm tomorrow. Tickets are R80 at the door. The CD will be available for R100 and will soon be online.

The second concert is at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music on March 29. Doors open at 5.30PM, concert starts at 6.30PM. Tickets are R70, R20 for students, and R45 for pensioners. – Staff Reporter
