Auction to help crash victim
A WEEKEND at a coastal resort for a family of four, a scuba diving course and a nail course will be on auction to raise funds for crash victim Hunter Tilling’s medical bills.
Family spokesperson Bridget Studzinski said a golf day was also scheduled for May 11 at the Bluff National Park golf club.
Tilling was involved in a head-on crash on Good Friday, about which little is known, and has had operations in the uMhlanga Hospital.
The 23-year-old Pinetown resident was between jobs and, as a result, was not on medical aid. So far, R450 000 had been paid, and it was not known what future costs would amount to.
“She is still in intensive care. They did an op this morning for a tracheostomy and removed a feeding pipe from her nose and placed it directly into her stomach,” Studzinski said yesterday.
The auction will take place on June 5 during a special evening dedicated to her at the Woodstock Music Bar and Bistro, Glenashley, she added.
A number of other donations, ranging from bottles of wine to spa treatments, will also be raffled.
Studzinski also said the person who called the emergency help number 10111 to report the accident, in Umgeni Park, had been in contact with the family but no further details were available. A Facebook page has opened titled “Help Hunter Tilling”.
