Are you a keen photographer? Join the club
THE Prince’s Grant Camera Club (PGCC), based at Prince’s Grant Golf Estate on the KwaZuluNatal North Coast, was started by two homeowners with a passion for photography.
This venue – with its beautiful natural forests, lagoon walks, ocean views, golf course and bird life – is ideal for photography and, with its conference centre and lodge, it also has all the facilities necessary to host club meetings.
The club is a relatively new club. It held its first meeting, which was attended by seven enthusiastic amateur photographers, on August 22, 2011.
The club’s aim is “to have fun and improve our members’ skills in the field of still photography”.
Club membership has grown to 30 aspiring photographers, consisting of resident members and e-members living in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, and with international members from Australia, Mexico, The Netherlands and England.
The club is a member of and conforms to the rules of the Photographic Society of South Africa.
Images submitted electronically are viewed and assessed by qualified the society’s judges at club meetings, which are held every second Thursday of the month.
The images and judges’ comments are made available on the website for all members to view and the results and star gradings are distributed via e-mail.
The club arranges outings and training, runs internal competitions and participates in competitions with other clubs.
Guests are invited to come to meetings and all new members are welcomed.
Registration documents can be downloaded from www.pgcameraclub.co.za or e-mail bar. anne@mweb.co.za
